R-Panel Metal Roofs

R-panel is the workhorse of metal roofing. It is tough, it is economical, and on a farmhouse, a shop, or a storefront it looks sharp for decades.

The knock on exposed-fastener metal is the fasteners, and that is really a knock on lazy installers. Done right, every screw lands in the flat with a gasketed washer, driven to the right torque, in a straight line you could check with a string. That is the difference between a roof that seals for the long haul and one that weeps at every screw head.
